SlimLipo is a form of laser liposuction which is a minimally-invasive procedure that removes fat from specific parts of the body with less downtime and risk than a typical liposuction procedure. Normal liposuction involves significant downtime and risk. A minimally-invasive procedure like SlimLipo uses a very small incision in the skin, usually under local or tumescent anesthesia, with much less bleeding than standard liposuction. Fat is heated by a laser, and then removed from the body through a tube. Skin is rejuvenated because of collagen generation caused by the laser’s energy.
Treatment with SlimLipo is generally performed in an outpatient center, taking between 1 and 3 hours to complete. SlimLipo requires very little time to heal, usually patients are back to normal activities the next day.
